About me

I am a 28-year-old multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker, currently based in Helsinki. My practice focuses on combining experimental animation with documentary and poetry to create a visual language for social commentary. For me, animation and art are mediums through which I can shout and express my critiques, and this may be why I’m drawn to the term artivism, where the social and personal influence of art goes beyond words.

In June 2025, I completed an EU-funded joint master’s in animation (with Aalto University as a partner), during which I directed my graduation film How Much for How Many. This film is inspired by a story of self-immolation as an act of protest and highlights the drastic impact of structural violence and bureaucracy on lower-class communities. I studied painting in my bachelors and my painting collection ‘conversion’ was created at that time as a portrait of the changes I faced when moving to a big city at a very young age.

Alongside personal projects, I have worked on a wide range of professional and commercial work, creating animated commercials, logo animations, and other visual content that combines artistic vision with clear storytelling. I have also worked as an illustrator and art director, often blending experimental approaches with client-driven projects.

Poetry has always been an inseparable part of my life. I remember that the first book I chose for myself at the age of seven was a poetry book by a poet who would become one of my favorite poets as an adult. Growing up, my family was never enthusiastic about films. Until today, I had never seen Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars. Instead, poetry became my window to imagination. By the age of ten, I was already writing words and experimenting with their order. I did not pursue poetry and literature professionally, perhaps because I discovered other creative outlets such as film and animation. Now, I have them all, and I’ve used them hand in hand to bring my animation to life.
